7th sit with my dog and a Border terrier

10 days in Provence with 2 dogs between 2 homes

Susie & Andy accepted that I came with my own dog once we checked Nellie,  their 11 years old Border Terrier,  and Tahoe would get along. The village of Buisson being not far from my home, it was easy for me to show up a few days ahead the sit.

If Ringo, the boxer I sat 3 times in the past, and Maddy, the Cocker spaniel I had kept 3 weeks before, were immediately friends with my pet, enjoyed running and kissing, this little female did not show any curiosity towards Tahoe, nor agressivity either : they simply ignored each other...

They walked peacefully on the lanes around the village, both leashed, sniffed the same spots but never felt like playing together.

When Nellie jumped on a sofa, Tahoe chose to lay on an armchair nearby, they never shared any couch. As usual,  my dog jumped on my bed during the night, without waking me up, while Nellie remained on the floor.

Nellie
prefered to rest on the cushion I had brought for my dog, without provoking any reaction from him. They shared the same bowl of water although they had 2. But I prefered to pay attention when it was meal time and kept them apart when they were eating their Kibbles. Just in case one would growl... But none seemed ever jealous of his territory.

It was so hot mid june in Provence i asked permission to take the 2 dogs to my home, only 45 km away.  Sue & Andy's lovely home was facing a fountain but had no garden, only a small terrace on top of the roof, much too sunny  to eat or to read  there during the day.

Our garden offered many shady places where the dogs could rest during the day. And I could cool off in the pool.

I came back every other day to water all plants which would have died of thirst otherwise...

Nellie seemed very happy to wander in our garden, to hide under bushes.  Without spikelets or burrs. Tahoe tried to fetch ball with her without any success !

First our 2 cats kept their distances, but Zia & Zoé understood quickly this small dog would not do any harm to them.  They came closer and watched this strange and peaceful animal who remained so distant...
