6th sit with my dog and a Cocker spaniel
A weekend with Maddy, a young cocker spaniel
This 3 days sit was decided at short notice : Ashley and Wendy published their listing only one day before going away for the week end. They allowed me to bring Tahoe when I told them my own dog was very sociable. I was sure he would love their young cocker spaniel. He had always behaved well in the past with different breeds, bigger or smaller than he.

Maddy, 3 years old, tried to kiss Tahoe who looked rather distant first . A typical male attitude ... Being a little older, he was more calm.
Almost the same color, the 2 dogs quickly got along very well, played a lot together, running after balls and toys, in the fenced garden and in the field behind. Maddy was much lighter and had shorter hair, having been lately groomed.
Tahoe did not show any jealousy when Maddy brought me her toy while I was resting on an armchair. She wanted to play but refused to give me her pig, growling if I tried to take it !My dog remained still as well when she decided to sleep between my legs while I was reading near the pool.
I took them both in my car to the next village to do some shopping, a rather bad idea as it was too hot to leave them inside even for10 minutes.
An available shaded parking was hard to find and the streets were rather crowdy. Walking with 2 leashed dogs was uneasy when so many were let unleashed around but Maddy and Tahoe behaved well on the terrace when I stopped to have a drink.
If Tahoe prefered to rest in the shade, Maddy loved to laze in the sun, she stayed on the wooden terrace, seeming very often fascinated by the panoramic view over the historic village of Cotignac and the hills.
In the evenings, both remained quiet, side by side, on the sofa in the sitting room. Maddy had a crate but never slept all night in it. She used another couch on the 1st floor near her owners' roomI had brought the pets' cushions in "my" bedroom but if Tahoe slept on his, Maddy prefered to hide under the bed. Every morning I found them lying on the comforter ! They had managed to jump without waking me up !
