12 days in Occitanie

12 days at Easter with a vocal dog in Marseillan (France)

We were advised by her owners that Roxie,  a cute Cairn terrier, could become rather naughty, meeting bikes, scooters or noisy kids in the streets.

For sure this 5 years old little dog (only 9 kilos) became agressive sometimes. We needed to hold her tight !
With cats or pigeons she was unpredictable !

We took her everywhere with us, she remained quiet on the back seat of our car, stayed calmly under our chairs when we went to cafés or restaurants, without begging.

We visited with her a few towns around  (Pézenas, Agde, Cap d'Agde) and although small, Roxie climbed the stairs with energy, never seemed tired.  She loved to jump on benches in the streets. On chairs too but we did not let her do it for long.

Unfortunately we were not allowed to walk her unleashed, the recall was not good.  But she loved to run on the beach or in the parks, quite happy to say hello to other dogs.

Ann and John prefered Roxie slept at night in the  bathroom : in their home, in Florida,  she accepts to be put in a cage.

But Roxie hated to be left alone and protested every evening. Scratching vigourously the door, barking and squealing at least for an hour, beginning again sometimes at 2 or 4 am.
After a few rather tiring nights, we were allowed to let her in our bedroom. She became instantly an angel again, delighted to stay by our lap. The 3 of us all slept well !

She loved cuddles, put her paws on me to get more .
Even when I was writing on my PC, she tried to draw my attention.

On the 18th of april, i offered her 5 treats, more than usual : She was 5 years old that day.
I whispered in her ear "happy birthday Roxie "! Ann & John were sorry not to wish it being  still on their Mediterranean cruise !!
