One week near Nice

A week with a cat on the french Riviera again

Anne-Laure invited me privately to keep again Honey in Biot,  a nice village close to Nice.

Honey, her 5 years old cat seemed a little less shy than in june 2023 when I first sat her. As I came this time with my husband, this little feline might be a little cautious as I was told she was rather afraid by men...

We only saw Honey indoors when she was hungry. She came several times during the day through the sliding bays but never stayed in the kitchen for long !

As soon as I tried to approach her, in order to cuddle her, she ran away, running to the terrace and hiding often in the bushes near the pool...

When we ate on the terrace, she was more friendly but we saw more often  her tail than her moustaches.

Honey meowed a lot, it did not take me long  to understand it was her way to communicate. As soon as I replied to her, the ice was broken. I had been wrong not to leave the door wide open the day of our arrival as she was used to come inside or go outside whenever she felt to with her owers !

Honey obviously prefered at night to sleep outside in a basket on the terrace table, but when a violent storm burst  at the end of our stay  and when we faced heavy rain, I decided to shut the sliding bays while she was eating in order to keep her safe inside. I was anxious she would be much too wet outside.

I hoped she would come to my lap when I read on the sofa, but she never came. We heard her going to the son of Anne-Laure's bedroom but she never showed up in ours when we were in bed. A shy and independent cat indeed.
