10 days in Gorges du Verdon

10 days  with a Lagotto Romagnolo and a cat

We were lucky again to look after 2 sweet pets in a lovely home in Gorges du Verdon , only 200 km away from our home. We applied for this sit as we did not know that area in the south of France, only 60 km from St Tropez, but much less crowded than the Côte d'Azur !

Skye,  a 5 years old female, was a very cute and easy doing dog : going to her couch when it was time to sleep at night, but happy to show up in our bedroom in the morning. She stayed mostly near us but vanished sometimes during the day.

We were not that anxious : we had been warned she loved to go and see her owners'neighbours. They was no fence in between their 2 big gardens. A simple call and Skye always came back !

That brown curled Lagotto went along with Mac, the 7 years old cat adopted by Pamela & Peter.

They played sometimes together and Mac never seemed afraid when Skye began to come close and leak him.

The 2 pets loved cuddles, to be scratched under the chin, both remained near us when we were watching tv, resting on the terrace or reading near the pool.

Mac had been quite distant at the beginning but soon prefered to sleep in our bedroom.
It was already very hot mid june in Provence. Both animals often rest in the shade,  hid under bushes. But Skye had much better ideas to cool off !

She usually brought her ball and when we threw it back, she let it drop on purpose into the water. In order to go to the steps and reach her toy in the pool.

When we were courageous enough to move, we never left Skye at home, we took her everywhere  with us : even to do some shopping to Bargemon or to take a drink  in Claviers, but also when we decided to visit Seillans, Mons & Fayence.

Skye always remained calm in the car, in cafés and  restaurants, staying under the table without begging. She barked sometimes when she met other dogs although she was quite always the smallest one...
Every time we passed near a fountain she wanted to jump in it to refresh. A little help from her friends was sometimes necessary to manage to get out...
