4th sit with my dog & a Tibetan terrier

3 days with Elwood and Tahoe in Uzès

Jennifer & Jeff were very kind to accept I came with my dog. Confident, they did not see why we should meet ahead the sit, quite sure, although both males, our pets would get along.

Jennifer only warned me Elwood, a Tibetan terrier, would be probably fairly indifferent to Tahoe. 3 days might be rather short to become real friends. For sure Elwood did not pay much attention to my 4 years old mutt, but he never showed any agressivity. On my arrival, they smelt each other, wagged their tails and that was it.

Younger and more active,  Tahoe was quite desapppointed  Elwood did not want to play as much as he wanted to,  did not run after balls, never tried to catch a stick I threw to them.

Being 10 years old, Elwood slept much more, he was spoiled for choices : many couches and toys were spread all over his owners' home.  He chose sometimes one of his small beds but often prefered to rest on bigger sofas : it was allowed.

Tahoe, then, felt authorized to jump on furniture as well... But the two dogs kept always apart ; they never shared the same cushion. Territory rules were fully respected.

When Elwood stayed on my bed, one night,  Tahoe did not react. He was not jealous either when Elwood put his head on my leg. When Tahoe drank in Elwood's bowl, Elwood did not complain, they tolerated each other.

My husband only showed up to celebrate my birthday (he was in charge of our cats at home). Even alone, walking the 2 dogs was easy : behind the house an old disused train line had been converted in a green lane only pedestrians and cyclists could use.

Very well trained, much better than Tahoe,  Elwood never pulled his lead. Unfortunately I was obliged to keep him always attached, even on the terrace.  I had been told he could run after cars. There was a little road behind the gate and the garden was not fenced, so it was much better to avoid any risk. I paid a lot of attention to let all doors locked : my dog knows how to open them, pressing his paws on handles !
