First sit in USA
3 days in Boston with a chihuahua

With Stéphanie, his wife, they were going away for the weekend in Washington. It was for them a first experience with sitters, it was for us our first sit in America, but a very short one : only 3 days !
We had enough time together the following morning to be advised of the routine : Nicolas showed us Lily's usual walks in the area. We noticed several plastic skeletons in the trees, huge pumpkins on the lawns : more than a month ahead Halloween, neighbours already decorated their homes...
Lily pulled quite hard the leash when Vincent began to walk her then calmed down. Less anxious... She looked very concerned by numerous rabbits hidden under the bushes. We were told to pay attention to the skunks who eat them around at night ! If they feel scared by a dog or a human being, they send an aerosol which reeks !
When her masters left, Lily jumped to see them go away through the window. She was obviously very sad after their departure, so we played a lot with her. We decided not to leave her a single minute that first day and only a few hours the second day.
Nicolas had left us his metro passes, so we visited Boston downtown with Lily as dogs were allowed on the T : she did not need to be put in a bag. She behaved well in the metro, but I took her in my arms when we had to use escalators...
All passengers looked rather surprised I held her like a baby. I was pretty sure Lily appreciated to be cuddled.
She walked a lot with us, quite scared by big dogs. When she looked rather tired, Vincent took her on his knees. We made frequent pauses...She behaved well in restaurants, lying down without begging. If not a beauty, a real cute dog.
At home, she joined us on the sofa, when we watched TV or were reading our Boston guides. Unfortunately the weather was not nice enough to stay on the upper terrace...
We brought her cushion to "our" bedroom : hopefully, even if she was feeling blue, Lily adopted us very quickly and seemed to love our company.
She loved to show us how clever she was playing with her toys, managing to put the right orange fruits in the right holes, and to jump on our bed
