3 days in Côte d'Azur

56 hours with a distant cat

   

This was the shortest sit I 've ever done : arrived on a monday morning near Nice, after a 3 hours drive,  I left the following wednesday afternoon. Not enough time obviously to become close friends, Honey and I !

I had been warned by Anne-Laure, that her female rescue cat, 4 years old,  was a very shy one. For sure ! As soon as her owner went away, Honey vanished too ! She hid under bushes in the lovely Mediterranean garden. Showed up later on in the evening.

During my stay, she came inside only when hungry, and if I was approaching her, she went away without finishing her pâté ! Too much disturbed by me !

I found her  once resting on her masters' bed. Looking quite angry  I had found her. I just had tome to take a picture before she flew away...

Honey much prefered to sleep outside, in the shadow, she hid often under the hammock near the swimming pool.

After one day, she seemed a little less anxious, tolerated more my presence.

 I did not always see her, but she was never very far, I noticed that when I was reading inside the house (it was already very hot outside mid- june),  she was staring at me from under a stool on the terrace.

As soon as Anne-Laure returned, Honey came back inside, very friendly. Next time may be, I will be more lucky ? I miss so much cuddles and purrs when my own cats are not with me.
