Spring in Cambridgeshire

2 weeks with a young Cavapoo and a mature cat

Initially we had planned, Vincent and I,  to spend a month in Massachusetts : we had been selected  to sit an old cat in Boston while his owners were going to Hawaï. As this sit had been unfortunately  cancelled, we decided to go to England. We would visit Cambridge but the oldest university instead !!

Penelope and Eric nicely picked us at London Stantsed aiport :  as they were going on holiday to Egypt, they needded us to keep their 2 pets  : Bobby Blue, a 3 years old cavapoo, and Black pudding, a12 years old black cat.

As soon as we arrived to their home, an old and spacious cottage, Black Pudding came to me, sat on my knees and began to purr ! A very nice welcome from a real cuddler (my own black cats are much more distant  and shy with any stranger ! )

Bobby blue, a beige curly tiny female, barked a little when she first saw us but became quickly our new friend.

Penelope had been kind enough to let us her car, which helped us a lot : driving to discover the region was much easier than relying on  public transportation...

Once her cushion was brought to the boot, that cute little dog remained still. She behaved perfectly in gardens, restaurants and pubs. She never begged when we were having lunch or dinner,  only barked when somebody was showing up at the door ; she went to her crate when it was time for her to sleep : a very easy girl !
When we went shopping to a big store in Cambridge, we were afraid she could be injured in the escalators, so Vincent took her in his arms,; she obvioulsy enjoyed and made customers smile !

Bobby loved long walks, in the countryside or in cities.  Being so light, and well trained -she never pulled - I often checked, at least during the first days, she was still behind her leash
We took her everywhere : she came with us; when we visited different cities - Ely, St Ives, Saffron Walden - and even gardens like  Docwar's manor in Shepreth we liked much.

We knew she could be left alone for 5 hours. But never left her that long ! She behaved too well !

Back home, Bobbie blue  often loved to chase Pudding, who did not stand much her licks and hated to be hunt. But most of the time the two got along and seemed to like, or at least tolerate, each other.
