A 3 days sit in july near Avignon (France)

 

Summer 2022 :  3 days in St Remy de Provence

Once again, I applied for a short and local sit : It's my way to get more references, to show I like all types of pets, different in ages, sizes or breeds.This time the pet concerned was Lola, a young and energic petit basset griffon vendéen, only 2 years old. 

My husband and I met first Lyn and Paul, Lola's masters,who invited us for a drink. With their permission, we showed up with our own dog. Tahoe is the same age, the same weight as Lola : the 2 got along well, played in the lovely garden (full of hydrangea, gaura & perovskia), running around the paths & the pool. 

The day of my arrival -huby and dog stayed at home with our 2 cats- it was very hot, much too much to play outside with Lola. She looked desappointed I did not throw back the red rubber bone she brought to me. 

I was rather surprised Lola did not cry after Lyn and Paul were gone, she did not look sad,on the contrary  she seemed quite happy to stay by me :  I was not a perfect stranger, we had met already twice.

 Someone was missing : Tahoe, whose smell she could sniff all over me !

When a storm burst out and cooled down for a while the atmosphere, this cute young female seemed not scared at all by thunder and heavy rain. She did not bark or hid under the sofa. She remained calm. Zen

The following mornings, she looked delighted to go out at dawn for long walks through the residence, then along the canal, near the antic roman road "Via Aurelia".

So early, temperature was at last cooler. No risk to hurt Lola's paws. When it is 35°Celsius (95°F) outside, a bitumen road can be  twice hotter !
